Highlights from a decade of impactful projects.
The Friendship Corner
I led on the design and implementation of this experiential awareness campaign by Flash Pack in New York. Alongside a month-long programme of events, every Saturday strangers were invited to sit inside the Friendship Corner and use bespoke conversation cards to connect with each other at increasing levels of intimacy.
New York Climate Week
I delivered three hybrid events across New York Climate Week 2023 on behalf of IIED, including the launch event of the Hidden Handbrakes platform - tracking the invisible barriers slowing climate action.
Climate:Red Summit
On behalf of the IFRC, I coordinated Climate:Red which took place in 2020 on a new bespoke virtual platform, attended by 10,000 people across the world over 30 hours. Highlights included keynote speeches from IFRC president, Francesco Rocca and IFRC Secretary General, Jagan Chapagain as well as HRH The Prince of Wales, and Sheela Patel, GCA Commissioner and Chair, Slumdwellers International.
Community-Based Adaptation to Climate Change Conference
Since 2015 I have coordinated IIED's flagship annual event; the Community Based Adaptation to Climate Change conference (CBA). I have coordinated CBA events across Asia and East Africa including in Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, Ethiopia, Bangladesh and Thailand as well as online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Development & Climate Days
Since 2015, I have managed event operations for the annual Development & Climate Days conference at COP, on behalf IIED. I have produced D&C Days across Europe and North Africa including in France, Morocco, Germany, Poland, Spain and Azerbaijan.
Heat Action Day
I was part of the organising team for the first ever global Heat Action Day by the IFRC and Red Cross Climate Centre. I coordinated flash mobs in nearly 50 cities worldwide and developed informative resources and social media content in 14 languages.
Brighton International Women's Day
On behalf of Brighton Women's Centre I curated and produced the 2019 International Women's Day festival at Brighton Dome and Brighton Museum; attended by over 1,000 guests and named as one of Elle Magazine's top 10 IWD events in the UK. Programme highlights included 'Justice for women' with Caroline Lucas, Lady Unchained, Meena Patel and Claire Cain; 'A level playing field' with Lewes Women's Football Club; and 'PROUD: in conversation' with Juno Dawson and Tanya Byrne.
Big Pride Beach Clean
My own community group 'Pier2Pier Beach Clean' which ran for 5 years in Brighton, was a core part of the organising team and the inspiration behind the 2019 Brighton Pride 'Silent Disco Beach Clean'. Over 500 volunteers cleared 2 tonnes of rubbish from the beach following the Pride parade while dancing to the beat of our slient disco!
